More Paintings from the Coast

Aug 10, 2022

Two of my favorite places to paint are represented this week.

Into the Great Wide Open

“Into the Great Wide Open,” oil, 6×8

The wide open spaces of the wetlands feel like freedom to me.  There is room for me there.

"Botany Bay Ancient," oil, 6x8, Michel McNinch

“Botany Bay Ancient,” oil, 6×8

This ancient tree stands witness in the Botany Bay Wildlife Management Area on Edisto Island.  The morning sun glowed around it as it quietly stood with time. The ancient trees of this maritime forest make me feel included, in some small way, in the history of the surrounding area.

Thank you for joining me as I paint the places I love. Until next week…

I’ll be painting,

Michel

P.S.  Both of this week’s paintings speak to me of quiet, calm beauty.  How about you?  Do they give you pause?
