Artists and their Friends

Mar 16, 2024

Artist make good friends. Lifelong relationships can be developed over the love of art. I have many such friends; I am grateful. This week I am helping one of those friends transition to hospice. We are strong and organized, and she is teaching me about what really matters in the end. L O V E. No accomplishments or money matter to her now – just those she loves. I hope the same for myself when the time comes.

We bonded over the love of art, and she supported my desire to be a full-time artist through purchases along the way. This is one of my paintings she owns. She sees it every morning when she wakes.

Our friendship also extends to her charity. She donated to Stormwater, a visual art non-profit, where I have a studio. She had the new Kinsler Creek Observation Deck built with handicapped access.

We will honor her in grateful appreciation for this gift on April 20, 10am-3pm at Stormwater Studios with a butterfly release at 11am. It is her last wish to attend this ceremony. Please be there if you can. A big crowd would thrill her.

See you at Stormwater.

Your friend,

Michel

Is equal to the love you make.”
