The Ocean and the Lake
Sep 2, 2023
What is not to love about the inspiration of the ocean and lake for the landscape painter? Work on my SC State Parks series brought out these paintings that were waiting patiently for their last licks of the brush. I enjoyed a pleasant day in my studio with the door open and the breeze blowing while I had my last session on these paintings.
Litchfield Beach, oil, 6×8, $295
This little spot in the world gives spectacular color. I always get inspired to paint there.
“Camping Island,” oil, 5X7, $195
There is a “little” surprise in this painting. The Park is actually the land mass in the very back. We camped on the island on the right, because the island on the left always had spiders. The things a painting can help you remember.
Hope memories were made for you this summer. It is September now, and the change in the season promises to be inspiring. Here’s to the colors of fall and cool crisp air.
Next week, art classes in my studio resumes. Fall is in the air.

P. S. Last week’s paintings have companion videos on my YouTube Channel! I am up to 22 subscribers – 3 more until I reach my goal of 25. Original art of the earth’s natural beauty in your YouTube feed sounds great.
I loved our camping style, party until very late then go home to our bed, then come back early in the morning. Still don’t know why we got dirty looks from the ground sleepers. hahahaha
That was a bonus! Love you.
I think Litchfield Beach resounds w tranquility. Beautiful!
Thank you so much, Alice. I get that feeling also. Ahhh
You work astounds me. Your Art and YOU are amazing!!!
Then, my dear friend, we think much the same of each other. Time for lunch. I want to hear about the trip!!
Litchfield is breathtaking and you capture it perfectly!
