Deep Greens and Blues
Aug 24, 2022
The large canvas in the corner had waited long enough. It is painted with deep shades of cobalt and manganese blue. Time to put it on the easel.
Composition first. Do the major shapes have balance? Where are the dominant sections and in what order should they be painted? Charcoal and chalk to help guide my thoughts.
Got it in the crosshairs. Helps me keep everything in the right place.
It is an expanse! 24×48 inches. I can usually get one brushstroke across the entirety of a painting from side to side. Not this one. Will take it in sections.
So this is where it is at as of today. Would you like an update next week? Will she be able to land it? Stay tuned. : )
Hope you enjoy the process. So exciting to start a new painting.
